Biodata
- Dr Nelson Chua Ping Ping is a board-certified anesthesiologist and Intensive Care Medicine specialist. He graduated from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Medicine in 1990 and earned a postgraduate Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) Qualification in 1998. Dr Chua completed his fellowship training in thoracic and vascular anaesthesia at Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital’s Department of Anaesthesiology. Dr Chua is also an expert in regional anesthesia. Dr Chua now holds dual specialized accreditation from Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine.
- Dr Nelson Chua Ping Ping was previously a Senior Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Management (TTSH). From 2009 to 2017, he served as Executive Director of TTSH’s 28 operating theatres. From 2019 to 2020, Dr Chua also served as the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Dr Chua chaired many hospital committees during his tenure at TTSH, including the Technological Assessment Committee, the Devices and Implants Committee, the Infusion Pumps Committee, and the Value Derived Outcomes Committee.
- Dr Chua was a 2019 recipient of the TTSH Staff Excellence Award (Gold). He is also the current President of the College of Anaesthesiology of the Singapore Academy of Medicine.
