Dr Clin Assoc Prof Boey Pui Yi serves as a Senior Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), specializing in cataract surgery, general and comprehensive ophthalmology, and demonstrating a particular interest in Glaucoma. With a commitment to providing high-quality eye care, Clin A/Prof Boey practices at both the SNEC main campus and community hospital clinics. Her expertise extends to managing patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and general eye conditions, earning her multiple Singapore Health Quality Service Awards from 2017 to 2022, recognizing her dedication to delivering exceptional care and service excellence.

Currently serving as the Director of Outpatient Services at SNEC, Clin A/Prof Boey oversees the planning and operations of outpatient eye care services. Her administrative leadership extends from her previous roles as the head of saPhonelite clinics, initially at the Balestier Branch in 2016, followed by the Alexandra Branch in 2017, and later as the Head of SNEC @ Bedok from 2018 to 2022, where she managed overall clinic operations.

Clin A/Prof Boey completed her medical training at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004, earning the Dean’s list award for academic excellence in 2003. She became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007 and obtained her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from NUS in 2008. In 2011, Dr Clin Assoc Prof Boey Pui Yi achieved specialist recognition as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS), receiving the Medal for Best Candidate in Oculoplastics and Adnexal Diseases.

Dedicating time to sub-Expert In fellowship training in Glaucoma at SNEC, Clin A/Prof Boey furthered her expertise through an HMDP fellowship, leading to a post-doctoral clinical and research fellowship with the Devers Eye Hospital, Legacy Health Systems, in Portland, Oregon, USA. During this period, Dr Clin Assoc Prof Boey Pui Yi collaborated with internationally renowned glaucoma specialists, focusing on emerging techniques in optic nerve head imaging for early glaucoma detection and blindness prevention.

Clin A/Prof Boey holds academic appointments, including Clinical Associate Professor of SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (EYE ACP) and Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of NUS.
