EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Chong Kian Chun earned a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (MBBS). He later earned a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics (MMed) from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as a Fellow (FRCS) (Orthopaedics). At the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, he completed subExpert In training (HMDP) in Sports Orthopaedics. Dr Chong previously worked at Changi General Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of the Orthopaedic Sports Service, where he treated patients with sports injuries.
- Dr Chong Kian Chun served on the Orthopaedic Specialist Training Committee, which is responsible for the Qualification of all orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore. He served as Honorary Secretary on the Singapore Orthopaedic Association’s 2009 Executive Committee. Additionally, Dr Chong worked as a Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin Medical School. He has instructed at various seminars on shoulder and knee arthroscopy, both locally and internationally, to encourage the growth of arthroscopy.
- He is a member of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America as an associate member. He is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore who is specialized in hip arthroscopy techniques.
