Dr Vinata Muralidharan is an Associate Consultant in Sankara Nethralaya’s Vitreo Retinal Department. Dr.Vinata Muralidharan earned her MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College, Bombay University, in 1994, and her DOMS from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay in 1996.
Dr.Vinata Muralidharan earned her MS (Opthal) from Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Bombay in 1997, and her DNB in Ophthalmology in 1997.
In December 1998, I attended a basic statistics course for medical doctors offered by the Hospital for Research in Medical Statistics.
Dr Vinata Muralidharan completed her Research Fellowship at the CU Shah Ophthalmic PG Training Centre, MRF, Chennai in 1998, and her Vitreo Retinal Fellowship at the CU Shah Ophthalmic PG Training Centre, MRF, Chennai in 1999.
THESIS:
- Dr.Vinata presented a dissertation on “Vitreous Haemorrhage, its etiology, and management”.
PROJECTS:
- During my research fellowship at MRF Chennai, actively took part in the project “A Case-control study of protective factors for the nondevelopment of retinopathy in NIDDM patients with diabetes over 15 years.

- Dr Vinata Muralidharan worked as a Vitreoretinal specialist at JASCHRM Eye Hospital, Mumbai between March 2000 and Feb 2002.
Between April 2002 and July 2003, she worked as a Trainee Consultant and then as a Junior Consultant in the Vitreoretinal Clinic at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya in Guwahati, Assam, and as a Medical Officer in the Vitreoretinal Department at Aravind Eye Hospital in Pondicherry between February 2004 and February 2005, which she continued on an honorary basis between February 2006 and September 2006.
