Biography

Dr. Victor Keng is a colorectal surgeon who specializes in endoscopic techniques such as colonic stenting and endorectal ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of rectal cancers. Before private practice, he was a consultant at Changi General Hospital. Dr. Keng graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990 and began his basic surgical training in General Surgery in 1992 after completing his national service. In 1995, he completed his fellowship examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He became interested in colorectal surgery and began to focus his advanced surgical training at the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital. He went to train with laparoscopic colorectal surgeon Professor John Monson at the University of Hull, UK in 1998 before returning to Singapore. He is a member of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons and the Singapore Academy of Medicine. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Keng is an active volunteer in promoting deaf life in Singapore and can interpret sign language. He has an interest in the development of social entrepreneurship in Singapore. Dr. Keng’s specialty interest is colorectal surgery.
