Dr. Tan Sing Huang practices at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore, as an oncologist.

Dr Tan Sing Huang was a senior consultant in the Department of Hematology-Oncology of the National University Cancer Hospital, Singapore, prior to entering private practice (NCIS). There, as its program director, she headed the Senior Residency Qualification group, and was co-chairman of their Senior Residency Training Clinical Competency Committee.

Dr Tan Sing Huang was awarded the NUH Teaching Excellence Award in 2014 for her contributions to Qualification at the National University Hospital (NUH). She was also an assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore National University, and participated in final medical examinations as an examiner for undergraduate studies.

Dr Tan Sing Huang is the new vice president of the Oncology Society of Singapore. She has also been a long-standing involved committee member of the Domain-Specific Ethics Review Board of the National Healthcare Association since 2011, and is a workgroup member for the 2017 National Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations Review of the College of Radiologists.

She has served as the chair of conferences such as the 2015 Best of ASCO, and was the co-organizer of the 2016 inaugural Breast Day Symposium.

Since 2008, Dr Tan has received a variety of independent grants, researching areas such as breast cancer methylation patterns, high-throughput oncogenic mutation profiling in breast cancers, chemotherapy regimens and clinical outcomes, and the impact of chemotherapy on cognition in cancer patients using PET scan imaging.

In the famous international textbook, Diseases of the Breast, Dr. Tan was invited to write chapters on chemotherapy treatment for metastatic breast cancer.

She also wrote numerous papers published in international journals on topics such as the use of ovarian suppression in breast cancer, improvements in the profiling of high-throughput mutations before and after chemotherapy, profiling of tumor gene expression, and pharmacogenetics in breast cancers.
