Biography

Dr. Tan Kin Jin graduated from NUS and underwent orthopedic training in different hospitals. Received the Gold Medal of the College of Surgeons upon completion of his advanced specialty training and went on to complete two fellowship training programs at Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital (Germany) under the famous Hans Zweep, Institute of Foot and Ankle Reconstruction (USA) with Dr. Mark Meyerson, World Leader A pioneer in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Tan is an orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in foot and ankle diseases and sports injuries. His practice currently focuses on foot and ankle disorders and lower extremity sports injuries. Prior to private practice, he established the Department of Foot and Ankle and was active in the Department of Sports Medicine at the National University Hospital (NUH). He also works as a visiting consultant in the Sports and Orthopedic Clinic at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Health Centre. Dr. Tan is deeply interested in educating fellow physicians, students, and the public in the field of orthopedics. As an Assistant Professor at Yong Lo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and a core faculty member of the NUS Health System Orthopedic Residency Program, Dr Tan has played a key role in the education of the future orthopedic specialist. As Director of the Foot and Ankle Education Program at NUH, he also set up a fellowship training program to train surgeons from the area in foot and ankle surgery. He is often invited to a chair and lecture on courses locally and in the region. Dr. Tan’s interests are in ankle sports injuries, flat feet, and minimally invasive bunion correction.
