Dr Tan Ken Jin is a specialist orthopedic surgeon formerly practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital. He specialises in diseases of the feet and ankles and sports injuries.
Dr Tan Ken Jin earned his M.Pharm Qualification from National University of Singapore. He completed orthopaedic surgical training in Singapore and later received a Gold Medal award from the College of Surgeons.
Dr Tan received the Human Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship training from the Ministry of Health, Singapore in foot and ankle rehabilitation from Dr Hans Zwipp at Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital, Germany. He also has completed a fellowship at the Hospital for Foot and Ankle Rehabilitation at the Mercy Medical Center in Maryland, USA with (name of fellow).
Since he earned his PhD, Dr Tan specialized in foot and ankle disorders. He serves as the head of the program for foot and ankle surgery at NUH and has trained surgeons from the area in foot and ankle reconstruction. He is currently a member of and belongs to the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).
Dr Tan Ken Jin has handled sports injuries among students and staff at the Sports and Orthopaedic Clinic at the University Health Centre in NUS.
Dr Tan has written more than twenty papers investigating foot conditions, ankle conditions and knee conditions. His research focuses on lower leg biomechanics, lower limb injury, and bone and tendon bioengineering.
