Biography

Dr. Ravindra Singh Shekwat is a neurologist at Farrell Park Hospital in Singapore. He has a special interest in stroke / post-stroke neuro rehabilitation, epilepsy, headache, neurophysiology, and neuroimmunology. Dr. Ravi completed his medical training at Chennai, Madras Medical College, India, with a Bachelor of Medicine and MBBS. He later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in London (MRCP, UK) before moving on to the General Hospital of Singapore General Hospital in Neurology. This was followed by a partnership between the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FMS) and the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, Edinburgh). He worked as a neurology consultant at the National Institute of Neuroscience and has served as a neurologist at Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital. He has worked as a stroke leader at Changi General Hospital at the National Institute of Neuroscience. Dr. Ravi has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the healthcare system in Singapore, such as the Advanced Residence Award (NNI-SGH), Service Quality Award SGH, Service from the Heart Award, and the NNI Quality Service Award. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ravi has been actively involved in teaching and training medical students and trainees. He was also the Clinical Superintendent of NUS Yong Loo Lin Medical School and DU KUE-NUS Medical School.

He has also published articles on stroke-related and general neurology in several well-established journals. He has been the Chief Investigator of various funded research studies.

Dr. Ravi has participated in numerous media interviews and public awareness programs to share his experience and knowledge of stroke management with the public.
