Dr Pramod S Bhende earned his medical Qualification and postgraduate Qualification (MS Ophthalmology) from Nagpur University’s Government Medical College in 1986 and 1990, respectively.
Between 1991 and 1993, he completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Medical Research Foundation. He is currently a senior consultant and the deputy director of the Vitreo-retina department at Sankara Nethralaya, a Medical Research Foundation Unit. He has 39 papers published in peer-reviewed national and international journals, as well as 4 chapters in various ophthalmic books.
He has given over 120 presentations at national and international conferences. He is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society and the Vitreo Retinal Society of India, as well as the American Society of Retinal Specialists.
