Dr Ng Chee Keong Alvin is a cardiologist who works at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
Dr Ng Chee Keong Alvin specializes in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular imaging and general cardiology. His work in interventional cardiology includes, by a procedure called catheterisation, the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and cardiac disorders.
At the Singapore General Hospital, Dr Ng began his medical training. He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Health to research nuclear cardiology in 2001, and became a fellow at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, USA.
Dr Ng Chee Keong Alvin is one of the few doctors in Singapore to earn a second scholarship for medical school. He completed his formal training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA, in interventional cardiology.
Dr Ng Chee Keong Alvin founded a nuclear cardiology service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2002. More than 2,000 nuclear cardiology experiments have been completed every year under his leadership. He has worked for more than 5 years as the head of the Coronary Care Unit of the hospital.
In 2009, Dr Ng was named adjunct assistant professor at Singapore National University. He has participated at major cardiovascular events, including the Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association and the Cardiovascular Therapeutics Transcatheter.
From 2010 to 2013, Dr Ng Chee Keong Alvin won awards for teaching at the National University of Singapore. He also won a Role Model Award in the subsequent year.
Complex cardiovascular therapeutics, transradial coronary intervention, sports cardiology and hypertension intervention are among his latest areas of interest.
