Dr Loo Jing Liang serves as the Head of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Department and holds the position of Senior Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre. Additionally, Dr Loo Jing Liang acts as a Visiting Consultant at Changi General Hospital and the National University Hospital. Dr. Loo is affiliated with the SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Program, where she holds the role of Clinical Assistant Professor.
Her journey in the field began with a medical Qualification from the National University of Singapore, followed by specialized training in Ophthalmology. In 2008, she achieved fellowship status with the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine (Singapore).
Driven by a passion for Neuro-Ophthalmology, she pursued a dedicated fellowship at the Singapore National Eye Centre, and later, in 2009, was honored with the Higher Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) award from the Ministry of Health. This award facilitated a year-long training at the Wilmer Eye Hospital at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, under the mentorship of Professor Neil Miller, a distinguished figure in neuro-phthalmology.
Beyond her clinical pursuits, Dr Loo Jing Liang is actively engaged in medical Qualification. She plays a vital role in training medical students and Ophthalmology residents, holding a position as a member of the Core Faculty of the SingHealth Residency Programme (Ophthalmology). Dr Loo Jing Liang also contributes to curriculum planning and delivers lectures to medical students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS). Moreover, she serves as an Adjunct Research Fellow with the Singapore Eye Research Hospital.
