Dr Lim Sheow Lei clinical EXPERIENCE YEARS covers the treatment of gynecological cancers such as ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancer.

She was a former senior medical oncology consultant at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) Department of Gynaecological Oncology, an associate professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, and a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre.

Dr Lim Sheow Lei entered the Gynaecological Oncology Department at KKH in 2008 and was in charge of the Chemotherapy Centre.

She was the chair of the gynaecological cancer workgroup of the Singapore Cancer Network (SCAN) that established the guidelines for national consensus on the treatment of ovarian and uterine cancers.

Dr Lim Sheow Lei was active in the teaching of DUKE-NUS Medical School medical students. She was also the KKH Program Director of the National Cancer Centre and Tan Tock Seng Hospital Medical Oncology Residency Training Program in Gynaecological Cancer for Oncology Trainees.

Dr Lim has been involved in cancer research, apart from clinical practice and teaching. She was the principal investigator of several clinical drug trials testing new therapies for gynaecological cancers, including immunotherapy.

The Japanese government granted her research grants for joint research work with Japanese researchers to investigate the role of intraperitoneal chemotherapy (chemotherapy injection into the abdominopelvic cavity) in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. Her academic work on gynecological cancers has been published in peer-reviewed international and local journals, including the British Cancer Journal and The Oncologist.

At local and overseas cancer conferences, including an oral presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, Dr. Lim was invited to chair and speak.
