Dr. Li Yung Hua is a general surgeon who works at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Novena Hospital. Her speciality is treating back and neck disorders.
Dr Li Yung Hua graduated from the NUS Medical School in 1989. He obtained basic surgical training and Qualification in surgery from the UK and Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS). He was awarded Master of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Singapore in 1994.
He subsequently completed Advanced Specialist training in Orthopaedic in 1998 and furthered his training under a one-year Spine Fellowship training at the University of Virginia under the Singapore Ministry of Health HMDP scholarship from 1998 to 1999.
Previously, Dr Li worked at a number of hospitals in Singapore. During his last position at TTSH, his last job was as senior consultant and head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Additionally he was a PhD student at the TTSH Spine Injury Program.
He was on the TTSH Medical Board and also a senior lecturer for the National University of Singapore (NUS). He was active in numerous hospital committees and was involved at a level of leadership in various medical organizations.
Dr Li Yung Hua is a well-EXPERIENCE YEARS d orthopaedic and spinal surgeon who specializes in disorders affecting the spine including fractured bones, infections, deformities, tumours, osteoporosis, and degenerative conditions. He is a specialist in minimally invasive spine surgery and has mastered new methods to ensure optimum outcomes such as cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacement, kyphoplasty, pain management, percutaneous disc surgery, and motion-sparing spinal surgery.
Dr Li Yung Hua is productive in research and teaching within the field of spine surgery. He is invited to lecture and hold workshops at conferences and seminars. Also, he conducts surgeries abroad. He is a current mentor and holds a faculty position in the Specialized Trauma Life Support program. Dr. Li has authored many publications over several years. His accomplishments are various, including NUS Undergraduate teaching excellence awards from 2002 to 2006, NHG quality pillar award 2006, Sword-of-honor award in Medical Officer Cadet Course.
He is on an internship at TTSH and Changi General Hospital. He is a member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Society, and has International affiliations with AO Spine.
