Patients of lung cancer, head and neck cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, or gynecological cancers are treated for cancer.
Dr Leong Swan Swan was a senior consultant at the National Cancer Centre prior to leaving for private practice and was involved in the clinical management of cancer patients and multidisciplinary treatment, especially for lung cancer and cancers of the head and neck. She also worked as the head of the Ambulatory Care Unit at the National Cancer Centre.
Dr Leong was a medical student clinical professor, engaged in undergraduate training as well as teaching for junior staff and nurses.
With her primary research focus in lung cancer and head and neck cancers, Dr Leong is actively interested in clinical research. She continues to be involved in multicentre clinical trials which provide some patients with the option of new, promising treatments. She also helped set up and manage the Singapore Consortium for Lung Cancer.
Dr Leong Swan Swan has been widely published in local and international journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Chest, Cancer, and has written chapters in books on lung cancer staging and care. She was a reviewer for many journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Respirology and Singapore Medical Journal, known for her EXPERIENCE YEARS in lung and other cancers.
Dr Leong Swan Swan is a member of the Singapore Society of Oncology of the American Society of Oncology and serves on the International Association of Lung Cancer Studies Bylaws Committee (IASLC). She is the inspector for the Geriatric Oncology Society as well.
