Dr Lee Boon Leng Kevin is a practicing orthopaedic surgeon who works at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.
His areas of focus are hip and knee operations. From the viewpoint of these procedures, these operations include complicated, revision, robotic and customised procedures, sports injuries of the lower limb, and cartilage repair of the knee.
Dr Lee Boon Leng Kevin is the founder of the Pinnacle Orthopaedic Group and the Pinnacle Joint and Sports Centre. He toured military medical research institutions in Singapore and the National University Hospital.
In 2007, Dr. Lee was educated at the Arthritis/Hip & Knee Replacement Division at Stanford University in the USA. With world-renowned surgeons Professor Stuart B. Goodman and Professor William J. Maloney, Dr. Lee studied complex hip and knee replacement procedures and was interested in both clinical and basic science studies in joint replacements, biomaterials and stem cell therapeutics in orthopaedics.
Dr Lee Boon Leng Kevin is also an orthopaedic consultant for Zimmer Inc., one of the largest orthopaedic implant and biomaterials business in the world; as well as a pioneer in joint replacement therapy.
Dr Lee Boon Leng Kevin is an instructor in postgraduate medical Qualification and was a research assistant professor with the medical university. Dr Lee has an active research interest in both clinical and sports injuries, and in the use of stem cells for surgical procedures involving joint replacements and sports injuries. He is an adviser to the Association of Surgeons of the ASEAN, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine, and is an active member of the International Cartilage Society.
He is the only orthopaedic surgeon to have received the Young Investigator Award for his research on mesenchymal stem cells and cartilage repair in the knee. She won the Balachandran Award in the same year (2005). In 2009, he was honored by his trainee for surpassing the Young Orthopaedic Investigator Award for the second time. Dr Lee is currently an involved Principal Investigator for several grants, and the co-Principal Investigator for many other grants concerning cartilage regeneration, stem cells, biomaterials and joint replacements.
