Dr Kannan Kaliyaperumal’s clinical EXPERIENCE YEARS includes sports disorders, ligament injuries, tendinopathies, arthroscopic keyhole surgery for cartilage defects and impingement, forefoot deformities, metatarsalgia, Charcot’s joints and wounds, the treatment of fractures around the foot and ankle, the correction of flat feet and high arched feet, and the management of arthritis including complete ankle replacement and osteotomy (the cutting and realigning of bones).
Dr Kannan Kaliyaperumalearned his fellowship in lower limb reconstructive surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and was awarded a prestigious Ministry of Health scholarship to accept further training in foot and ankle reconstruction.
Dr Kannan Kaliyaperumal achieved his subExpert In training in Switzerland and in the Netherlands, subspecializing in foot and ankle reconstruction, as well as in minimally invasive surgery. Prior to entering private practice, he worked at a hospital as a foot and ankle specialist.
He is an active researcher in the fields of cartilage regeneration and orthopaedic medicine. His research has been published in many widely published peer-reviewed journals. He is the specialist who treated the first case of talus osteochondral tissue reconstruction in Singapore.
Dr Kannan Kaliyaperumal focuses on undergraduate medical Qualification, especially in his position as a clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is currently a teacher teaching in a National Healthcare Community program. Dr. Kannan is a current faculty member of the American College of Emergency Physicians in emergency medicine and has taught in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
