Biodata

• Dr Joyce Chua Horng Yiing graduated from the National University of Singapore with a basic medical Qualification in 1998. She finished her foundational surgical training in Singapore and was admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 2001. Dr Chua then completed a five-year advanced surgical training program in paediatric surgery at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Surgery. Dr Chua also worked at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and earned a Fellowship in Paediatric Surgical Oncology in 2008 under the direction of Dr Michael LaQuaglia, a paediatric oncology surgeon at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Chua is passionate about child oncology and haematology practice in addition to general neonatal and paediatric surgery.
• Dr Joyce Chua Horng Yiing previously practiced paediatric surgery at KK Hospital, where she managed a broad range of neonatal and paediatric surgical problems and had the honor of touching many little lives. Dr Chua was a 2014 recipient of the Singapore Health Quality Service STAR Award for her commitment to the care of sick children and their families. Her particular skill sets have enabled her to devote a portion of her practice to cancer care for children, developing many efforts to better satisfy these children’s surgical needs. Dr Chua was awarded a Merit Award at the 2011 SingHealth Quality Convention for her work in decreasing the early removal of central venous access devices installed in chemotherapy-treated children. Dr Chua is a member of the Singapore Paediatric Oncology Group and continues to be involved in paediatric oncology research. Recognizing that close-knit multidisciplinary care is frequently necessary for a successful paediatric practice, Dr Chua looks forward to collaborating closely with her colleagues at Raffles Children’s Centre to consistently provide a high level of specialized care to children in Singapore and the region.
