Biodata
- Dr James Tan Chung Hui graduated from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine with a Master of Medicine (Orthopaedics). Additionally, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Great Britain (Edinburgh). He continued his specialist training at Germany’s famous Department of Sportsorthopaedics at the Technical University of Munich, where he studied under Professor Andreas Imhoff.
- Dr Tan specializes in knee, shoulder, and elbow joint sports injuries, as well as cartilage surgery. He is also skilled in shoulder arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and muscle-tendon transfers. Additionally, he has authored publications on the shoulder joint and the upper limb.
- Dr Tan is the Principal Investigator of National Medical Research Council-funded tissue engineering (bone, meniscus, and tendon) programs and collaborates with scientists from Nanyang Technological University and the Technical University of Munich. He has a strong enthusiasm for teaching and has been named adjunct Clinical Tutor at the National University’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
