- Dr Chong Yew Luen Christopher practices urogynaecology and obstetrics & gynecology at Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore.
His subspecialties include cystocele mesh repair, laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, prolapse, incontinence, and pelvic floor reconstruction, tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) sling surgery, and vaginal rejuvenation (vaginoplasty).
He pioneered the use of mesh in the treatment of extreme utero-vaginal prolapse and was one of the first surgeons in Asia to conduct Sling procedures and Botox injections into the bladder for overactive bladder control (urgency, frequency, urge incontinence). Since his first sling operation in 1998, he and his colleague have performed over 10,000 cases with a success rate of over 90% with minimal complications and discomfort. He is a specialist in these procedures for gynecologists, urogynecologists, and urologists in Asia. - Dr Chong Yew Luen Christopher’s areas of specialization include female genital cancer, female sexual dysfunction, heavy cycles, infertility, menopause, menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, womb, bladder, and bowel prolapses, subfertility, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, uterine fibroids, and vaginal discharges and infections. He also does screenings for women’s wellbeing and colposcopy.
Dr Chong Yew Luen Christopher is a Ministry of Health-accredited reproductive medicine specialist who performs in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intrauterine insemination procedures, assisting several infertile couples in becoming pregnant.
Dr Chong worked as a visiting consultant at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Urogynae Centre and as a senior clinical lecturer, instructing undergraduate and postgraduate students and physicians.
Dr Chong Yew Luen Christopher previously served on the International Urogynecological Association’s Board of Directors (IUGA). He currently serves on the Asia-Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s commission. He serves on the Editorial Board of the IUGA and is an invited reviewer for a number of international journals.
He is currently the President of the Singapore Urogynaecological Association, a founding board member and trustee of the Asia Pacific Urogynaecological Association, a member of the Medical Advisory Board of Gleneagles Hospital, and an elected member of the Singapore Medical Council.
Dr Chong has received several awards for his patient care, including the KK CEO Heart Award, which recognizes the staff member who receives the most compliments from colleagues and the public. He has also been recognized for his study and studies and is a sought-after speaker globally and in the media, having hosted a weekly radio show for the last 13 years to educate the public.
Dr Chong’s passion remains childbirth. Since his first delivery in 1986, Dr Chong is believed to have delivered somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 babies. Dr Chong is specialized in treating complex and demanding high-risk pregnancies and is supported in this endeavor by an EXPERIENCE YEARS d team of neonatologists.
