EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Chin Pak Lin is an orthopaedic surgeon based in Singapore. He is affiliated with Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital. He is a specialist in hip and knee surgery, performing procedures ranging from joint preservation to extensive reconstruction.
Dr Chin’s clinical interests are concentrated on complex hip and knee joint replacement procedures requiring computer-assisted techniques and robotic surgery. He was, in reality, a pioneer in Singapore of these cutting-edge techniques.
Dr Chin graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He then received membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom and a Master of Medicine in orthopaedic surgery from NUS in 2003. In 2007, he was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in orthopaedic surgery. - Dr Chin Pak Lin was awarded a Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship by the Singapore Ministry of Health in 2008 to undergo advanced joint replacement training at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom.
Dr Chin Pak Lin previously worked as a consultant at the Singapore General Hospital’s adult reconstructive service in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (SGH). He was also instrumental in establishing the SGH bone bank.
Dr Chin Pak Lin has worked as an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School in addition to his clinical practice. He is currently a senior clinical mentor at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Chin offers courses and medical exchange programs in the area on a regular basis. He also volunteers at the Ang Mo Kio Community Hospital and a specialist project in Cambodia run by the Singapore International Foundation (SIF).
