10 Tips for Good Health | Health Tips

As we age, our health and fitness take a hit. Hectic schedules and busy lifestyles make it more difficult to balance food for health with work and family responsibilities.

Here are 10 simple, non-confusing, and straightforward tips that you can follow every day to maintain good health:

1 Avoid eating junk

Junk foods like burgers, pizza, or chips are high in calories and processed sugars with little to no nutritional value. By eliminating junk food from your daily regimen and starting to eat healthily, you can effectively reduce at least 500 empty calories a day. Instead, consider switching to diet-healthy snacks and options like protein balls or kale chips that help satisfy your snack cravings and provide you with essential micronutrients.

2 Move around

Due to the pandemic, most of us remain confined to the comfort of our homes, where we work for hours sitting in our chairs. It can have various adverse effects on our bodies. Sitting in the same place can cause serious problems with circulation and the spine, especially if you have bad posture, so you must stretch and move around for a few minutes every hour.

3. Sleep

Studies have linked lack of sleep to health complications such as mental illness, obesity and heart disease. Try to finish your work for the day before late at night and make it a point to sleep a minimum of seven hours a day to maintain a healthy metabolism and cognitive health.

4 Have a healthy breakfast

Eating a rich, healthy breakfast boosts your glucose levels and keeps you energized for the day. It also helps to make good food choices throughout the day. Start your day with a hot bowl of oatmeal and fresh-cut fruit. You can choose fruits for weight gain if that’s your goal or eat vegetables and fruits in a diet that keeps your weight under control based on your fitness goals.

5 Drink green tea

Consider swapping your evening tea with a cup of green tea for a long list of health benefits. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and nutrients that help fight free radicals and eliminate toxins from the body. Studies have shown that consuming green tea helps improve one’s immune system and prolong life.

6 Drink enough water

WHO recommends a minimum of 1.5 liters of water a day to enhance basic body functions. By doing something as simple as drinking a glass of water after every meal, you ensure optimal functioning of your immune system, smooth digestion, and increased metabolic activity.

7. Organics are over-processed

With globalization and modernization bringing more and more products into the culinary world, choosing the right ingredients while shopping for your grocery list is vital. Although it can be a little expensive, choosing organic products, including healthy eating vegetables that are not full of trans-fats and added sugars, is a massive step towards maintaining good health.

8 Meditate

Meditating for ten minutes a day can play a huge role in maintaining your physical and mental health. That doesn’t mean you have to sign up for fancy yoga classes, though. Make sure that part of your day is sitting in perfect silence and focusing on your inner thoughts. Regular meditation is also known to cure mental disorders such as depression and anxiety.

9 Cut down on your screen time

Most of our generation is hopelessly addicted to technological devices like cell phones, laptops, and video games. The extra stimulation offered by these devices has a significant impact on our cognitive processing, sleep patterns, and imagination, which is why you must make it a point to reduce your screen time and pull out your phone only when you need to.

10 Nutritional Supplements

Due to our stress-filled lives and busy schedules, most of us fail to meet our recommended daily allowance of various essential micronutrients and minerals. It can lead to several health complications in the long run. Consider supplementing your daily balanced diet with healthy nutritional supplements such as HealthCart Multivitamins to meet your daily nutritional needs simultaneously!
