  • Dr Yue Wai Mun is an orthopaedic surgeon based in Singapore’s Gleneagles Hospital. His clinical priorities include the treatment of complex spinal disorders ranging from the cervical to lumbar spine, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive spine surgery and computer-assisted spine surgery.
    Dr Yue Wai Mun graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1992 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery training in Singapore, where he was awarded the 2001 N Balachandran Memorial Award for Outstanding Orthopaedic Trainee.
    Dr Yue was then awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship with the University of Missouri-Columbia and Columbia Orthopaedic Group by the Singapore Ministry of Health in 2003. In 2004, he was elected a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery).
  • Dr Yue Wai Mun was previously a senior consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital’s spine operation (SGH). Among his many appointments at SGH, he was also the director of the spine fellowship program and the director of quality assurance and clinical governance. He continues to work as a visiting consultant for SGH.
    Dr Yue Wai Mun is also an adjunct associate professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and a clinical senior lecturer at NUS’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is a member of the Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic) review committee and an examiner for the Joint Expert In Fellowship Examination in orthopaedic surgery, the Master of Medicine examination in orthopaedic surgery and family medicine, and the NUS MBBS examination.
    Dr Yue is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Asia Pacific Spine Society, the Society for Cervical Spine Research, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He is a life member of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association and a founding member of the Cervical Spine Research Society’s Asia Pacific section. He has worked in various leadership roles and on scientific committees of professional societies both locally and globally.
    Dr Yue frequently serves as a reviewer for a number of prestigious research publications, including Spine, the leading journal dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders. He has authored several publications on minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical spine surgery, disk replacement surgery in the cervical spine, and spinal deformities. Additionally, he has presented at several local and international scientific gatherings, receiving the best paper award at the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery’s 2010 meeting in the United States.
    Dr Yue has also been invited to lecture and hold seminars on advanced spinal procedures in the United States, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Brunei.
