• Dr Yong graduated from University College London’s Royal Free and University College Medical School in 2000, with the Qualifications Bachelor of Medical Science with First Class Honours and MBBS with Distinction.
• Dr Yong Shao Onn returned to Singapore after completing his internship in London to complete his Ophthalmology training at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, and the Singapore National Eye Centre.
• Dr Yong Shao Onn completed his studies in General Ophthalmology in 2008 and was later recognized as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine Singapore. He then completed speciality training in both surgical and medical vitreoretinal illnesses in Singapore and at the University of Toronto, Canada, with the assistance of a Ministry of Health HMDP scholarship.
• Dr Yong Shao Onn’s clinical interests include phacoemulsification cataract surgery and the care of complex cataracts and anterior segment problems, as well as vitreoretinal diseases.
