Dr Yip Chin Ling William is a renowned paediatric cardiologist working at Gleneagles Hospital Dr Yip is one of the few cardiologists in Singapore with expertise in both children’s health and cardiac conditions. His area of specialization is in the speciality of interventional cardiology and congenital heart disorders including Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Fallot’s Tetralogy, and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD).
Dr Yip Chin Ling William has worked as a doctor for over forty years. He was a specialist in echocardiography and interventional cardiac procedures and was an adviser to the board on cardiovascular surgery in Singapore.
Professor Yap was previously a pediatrician at National University of Singapore and National University Hospital, and the director of the pediatric cardiology division. Dr. Andrew Chia is currently an associate professor at the National University of Singapore, and a pediatric cardiologist at the National University Hospital.
Dr Yip performed the first series of balloon valvuloplasty, balloon septal occlusion, balloon occlusion of patent arterial duct, balloon septal repair of ventricular septal defect and foetal echocardiography in Singapore.
Dr Yip Chin Ling William taught paediatric cardiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students in his capacity as a clinical instructor. He is a specialist in cardiac diagnostics, including transoesophageal echocardiography, interventional procedures, and fetal echocardiography.
Dr Yip has been invited to give lectures at a number of international and regional conferences. In recognition of his significant and sustained contributions to cardiovascular science, Dr Yip was honoured with the 2009 Singapore Cardiac Society Lectureship.
He has participated in the Asia Pacific Society of Paediatric Cardiology and the Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiology for the past twenty years and served as the moderator of the 2004 Meeting in Singapore. Dr Yip has been invited to several International Societies as well as the International Society of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.
Dr William Yip led the establishment of the Department of Congenital Heart Disease in National University Hospital. He is a founding member, delegate to the Asian Pacific Society of Congenital heart disease, and a Senior Advisor. He has published 191 articles in cardiology and paediatric journals, 258 publications in conferences and 15 books in different subjects in cardiology and paediatrics.
