Dr Shang Yeap Heng Oon is an Icon SOC Gleneagles Medical Clinic medical oncology expert and a visiting consultant at Johns Hopkins Singapore.

He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Qualification from Sydney University and was awarded the International Merit Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement by the Faculty of Science. He was also awarded membership in the Foreign
Honour Society of the Golden Key for being among his class’s highest performing students.
During his medical studies, Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang served in Sydney at the Royal North Shore and Gosford hospitals. At the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre, Westmead, he then completed his fellowship in medical oncology. He specialized and cared for patients suffering from cancers of all kinds during this period.

With a fellowship in clinical research at the Sydney West Clinical Trials Centre, he then progressed his passion for cancer treatment. Multiple clinical trials for breast cancer, urogenital cancer, new cancer drugs and pharmacogenomics were developed at that time. Since then, at several international conferences, he has presented his research findings and also published these findings in acclaimed scientific journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

From 2011 until 2015, Dr Yeap worked as a surgical oncology consultant at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He treated cancer patients of all types, especially breast, urogenital, gastrointestinal, lung cancer and melanoma patients.

Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang was in charge of the oncology clinic in Tan Tock Seng and was involved in research as the principal investigator of several cancer patient clinical trials. He is a faculty member of Johns Hopkins Pharmacy, and at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he continues to be involved in the Qualification and training of medical students and residents.
