Biodata

• Dr Woo Shu Jeng is a board-certified gastroenterologist. He obtained his early schooling in Malaysia before being awarded the Youth Flying Club-ASEAN scholarship to attend the National Junior College and earn his Cambridge A Levels. He then obtained a scholarship from the Malaysian Public Service Department to study medicine at the University of Sydney, where he graduated with honors in 2000. Dr Woo opted to advance his career in general medicine after EXPERIENCE YEARS YEARS in Malaysia, including periods in obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, accident and trauma, family medicine, and antenatal care. He then trained in gastroenterology at NUS from 2009 to 2012. He acquired additional endoscopic training during this time period as a visiting scholar at Kyushu University Hospital in Japan in September 2011. At the time, he was interested in the potential of Narrow Band Imaging to detect stomach cancer.
• Dr Woo Shu Jeng joined Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in November 2012 after being accredited as a Specialist in Gastroenterology in November 2012. He practices general gastroenterology and runs a dedicated specialist liver clinic. By April 2018, he was a member of the pioneering team of specialists establishing the new Sengkang General Hospital’s general medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology services. Apart from clinical responsibilities, Dr Woo is actively interested in teaching medical students, serving as Clinical Lecturer at NUS’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and DUKE-NUS Medical School.
