Biodata
Dr Wong Wai Loong earned his undergraduate medical Qualification from the National University of Ireland before undergoing specialized training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He holds a postgraduate Qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) and a Master of Medicine in O&G from Singapore.
Since 2005, Dr Wong Wai Loong has been a dedicated practitioner at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. In his most recent role, he served as the Head and Senior Consultant in the Department of Gynaecologic Oncology.
Dr. Wong’s interest in oncology dates back to his early training, guided by EXPERIENCE YEARS d gynae-oncologists. Proficient in both laparoscopic and open surgeries for cancer and benign cases, he was awarded the MOH-Singhealth HMDP to specialize in Robotic Gynae-oncologic Surgery in the UK.
Recognizing his commitment to oncology, Dr. Wong was elected as the Chairman of the Section of Gynaecological Oncology in 2022 through the College of O&G Singapore. He also holds the position of Secretary for the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Singapore (SCCPS), being a registered colposcopist.
Throughout his tenure at KK Hospital, Dr. Wong actively contributed to the teaching community. He served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for all three medical schools in Singapore and was a core faculty member for the O&G residency program at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr Wong Wai Loong, a father of three girls, advocates for women’s health, particularly in screening and cancer awareness. He has delivered numerous public talks addressing women’s cancer and prevention.
