  • Dr Wong Kong Min Reuben is a gastroenterologist at Singapore’s Gleneagles, Parkway East, and Mount Elizabeth hospitals.
    His areas of expertise include reflux and swallowing problems, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), intestinal microbiota, chronic constipation and diarrhea, and colon cancer screening.
    Dr Wong Kong Min Reuben graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998 and spent 18 years in the public sector. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore as well as the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom (Edinburgh). Dr Wong is also one of only a few gastroenterologists in Asia to have been elected to the American Gastroenterological Association’s fellowship program.
  • Dr Wong Kong Min Reuben earned a scholarship from the Ministry of Health to seek subExpert In training at the University of North Carolina’s Center for Functional Gastrointestinal and Motility Disorders in the United States. When he returned to Singapore, he developed a functional gastroenterology service and pioneered innovative treatment methods for irritable bowel syndrome. Dr Wong brought new motility and reflux testing to Singapore as a senior consultant and clinical director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Laboratory, resulting in new insights into the diagnosis and treatment of oesophageal disorders.
    He is a visiting consultant at NUH and an adjunct associate professor at NUS.
    He is the author of several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and is often invited to speak and lead sessions at international scientific meetings and seminars as a member of the faculty. His work has been recognized with awards and has been discussed and quoted at international conferences.
    Dr Wong serves on international workgroups, medical advisory boards, and national committees for oesophageal and anorectal diagnostic criteria. He also represents Asia on international committees developing new oesophageal and anorectal recommendations.
    He often contributes media articles and speaks on radio and Phoneevision about gut wellbeing. He served as president of the IBS Support Group (Singapore) and continues to serve on its advisory board.
