With nearly 20 years of clinical EXPERIENCE YEARS , Dr Wong Kit Yee Karmen is recognized as one of Asia’s leading oncologists. About 15 years ago, she pioneered the first multi-disciplinary therapy for breast cancer in Singapore.
This included setting up a forum for the treatment of other cancers in various medical disciplines. The Solid Tumor Bone Marrow Transplant Program was also launched in Singapore in 1997 by Dr Wong. In Singapore General Hospital, she spearheaded the multi-disciplinary tumour board and Breast Cancer Clinic.
At the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 1999, Dr Wong presented the 1st Asian report on cancer care attitudes among Asian patients. She has also written articles on peer review and published textbook chapters.
Dr Wong Kit Yee Karmen also sits on numerous boards, including the Singapore Oncology Society, the Singapore Breast Cancer Workshop, and the National Council of Cancer Service. She is also a member of the Professional Training Committee of the Ministry of Health, the Foundation for Breast Cancer, and the Changi Prison Visitors Board of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
