Dr Wang Chaw Chian John graduated with honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and earned a master’s Qualification from the National University of Ireland, Dublin, in clinical anatomy and anthropology. He is dual-boarded by the American Board of Surgery in general and vascular surgery.
At Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, he completed his General Surgery Residency training and, subsequently, a Vascular Surgery Fellowship.
Dr Wang Chaw Chian John was a former Senior Vascular Surgeon Consultant at Singapore General Hospital, where for five years he performed the full range of vascular and endovascular surgery. Prior to moving to Singapore, he was also a vascular surgeon at the University Hospital Case Medical Center, Cleveland, for 5 years.
Dr Wang Chaw Chian John acted as the Vascular Surgery Fellowship’s associate program director in 2012 and launched the Integrated Vascular Surgery Internship at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
He has written widely in journals such as the Journal of Vascular Surgery, the European Journal of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, and the British Journal of Surgery, both local and international.
Dr Wang Chaw Chian John has won several awards, including the Charles Guthrie Award, Alex Chao MD – Young Investigator Award, DVVS Best Basic Research, DVVS Best Clinical Research, and the Outstanding Faculty Award for Residency at SingHealth Excels (RiSE).
