After a thorough interview with Dr. P.C. Reddy, chairman of the famed Apollo Group, Dr Vikash Agarwal has joined the Apollo Hospitals businesses group, which has altered the medical landscape in the Indian subcontinent.
He was hired as a full-time consultant in the Apollo Expert In Hospital’s department of neurology, which also offers neurosurgery and cancer therapy. He was a full-time independent consultant with a daily OPD in neurology, inpatient care, and emergency room neurology calls, including acute stroke and epilepsy therapy. On a daily basis, he was in charge of the hospital’s neurophysiology laboratory, reporting EEG-Nerve conduction tests and short-term video EEG monitoring for classification.
Dr Vikash Agarwal takes an active role in our hospital’s academic programs for DNB (Diploma National Board) postgraduates in neurosurgery, where he meets regularly to discuss bedside clinical neurology and localization.
He served as an assistant professor of neurology at Sri Ramachandra Medical Center in Chennai, which is a prestigious medical institution and a 1000-bed tertiary care center in Tamil Nadu, India.
Dr Vikash Agarwal was in charge of the unit’s general operation, particularly the neuro ICU, which included the stroke ICU, as well as ward rounds and the daily supervision of all admitted patients in the unit. On-call rotations were used to manage emergencies and inter-departmental referrals. Outpatient consultations and neurophysiology testing were scheduled every other day. He reported electro-encephalograms, nerve conduction tests, and electromyography testing in the neurophysiology lab.
Dr. Vikash Agarwal was also in charge of educating internal medicine and neurology residents at the Hospital. He was also an active participant in the residents’ regular academic sessions, where they were educated about various aspects of neurological illnesses and how to handle them.
