Biodata
- Dr Thiruchelvam Jegathesan works at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a Consultant Urologist. He earned a bachelor’s Qualification in 2007 from the National University of Singapore and was elected to the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2011. He completed his residency program at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (NHG cluster, Singapore) in 2018 and joined the hospital the following year. In 2018, he was also elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (Urology).
- His areas of expertise include benign prostatic problems and endourology. He is the principal surgeon doing Greenlight laser Transurethral Vaporisation of the prostate and other minimally invasive procedures for benign prostatic hypertrophy. Dr Jega directs the TTSH BPH route and serves as chairman of the Urology Clinic’s management committee.
- Dr Jega is actively involved in the Qualification of Singapore’s medical postgraduates and undergraduates. He is currently a Clinical Lecturer and Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He is also a member of the core faculty of the residency program, where he assists in the training of the future generation of urologists. In 2017, he was presented with the NHG teaching prize.
