  • Dr Teo Yeow Kwan Jim, who works at Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore, is a respiratory doctor and intensivist.
  • Dr Teo Yeow Kwan Jim graduated with M.B.B.S. from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently completed his internal medicine training and received M.R.C.P (UK) and M.M. Med—Med (Internal Medicine). He was further educated at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in respiratory medicine & intensive care medicine (TTSH). Dr Teo is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Academy of Medicine (Chapter of Respiratory Physicians). He is also a member of the Respiratory Society of Europe.
  • Under Professor Peter Vernon van Heerden, president of the College of Intensive Care Medicine, Dr Teo started his advanced training in intensive care medicine as a fellow at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Australia. He is also a member of the European Intensive Care Medicine Society and has earned a European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC). Dr Teo was a consultant in the Department of Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to joining private practice. He treated patients, including seriously ill cases from the H1N1 epidemic and patients from the Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre, in the medical intensive care unit (MICU). In the MICU, he also began the first bedside percutaneous tracheostomy. In the Non-Invasive Section of the hospital, he delivered treatment for critically ill patients with non-invasive ventilation. In the TB Control Unit, Dr Teo treated tuberculosis patients as well.
  • Dr Teo Yeow Kwan Jim was awarded the Bravery Star Award for his contributions in the public sector in 2003 for his contribution during the SARS outbreak. Dr Teo, named by the Specialist Training Committee in Singapore, is an intensive care medicine trainer. He was an instructor at different public hospitals for intensive care medicine courses and a clinical teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore National University. For courses such as the Basic Cardiac Life Support Course, the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course and the Fundamental Critical Care Support Course, Dr Teo is currently a teacher.
