Dr Tay Miah Hiang is specialized in the treatment of cancers of the prostate, kidney, testicular and bladder, as well as gynecological cancers such as ovarian and cervical/uterine cancers. He also has EXPERIENCE YEARS in treating cancers of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary tract, lung cancer and brain tumors.
Dr Tay was a former consultant at the Department of Medical Oncology of the National Cancer Centre, and was the chairman of their patient Qualification and patient survivorship programs.
Dr Tay Miah Hiang has previously held teaching appointments at the National University of Singapore as a clinical teacher and faculty of medicine, and was also a lecturer in 2007 for the first Singapore Medical Oncology Examination Course involving surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and doctors.
Dr Tay Miah Hiang is also instrumental in contributing to continuous medical Qualification in the area, providing cancer professionals, general practitioners, medical students and patients with lectures on cancer management.
For several years, he has been actively interested in clinical and translational research on genito-urinary and other cancers. His academic work, including Urology, Cancer and Annals of Oncology, has been published in both local and international journals.
During the post-Afghanistan war, he received several awards for his service excellence and commitment to humanity to disaster-inflicted regions, as well as his work in tsunami-hit areas in Sri Lanka.
