Qualification & EXPERIENCE YEARS :

Dr Soin Kanwaljit graduated with a medical Qualification paired with a Bachelor of Arts. She received her laud of medicine (surgery) from the University of Singapore in 1970 and years later became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Soin won the Colombo Plan Scholarship to move abroad to pursue training in hand surgery in Australia in 1972.

Dr Soin Kanwaljit is an active member of Singapore Orthopaedics and International Hand Therapy Organizations. She is currently an Emergency Physician of the Singapore General Hospital. Dr Soin is a prominent community figure who has held various leadership roles in civic, welfare and professional organizations.

Dr Soin Kanwaljit is currently a Global Ambassador of HelpAge International which works with and for vulnerable older people, and is the founder and Chair of WINGS- which stands for “Women’s Initiative for Ageing Successfully”. Dr Soin has served on the board of trustees of the Osteoporosis Society (Singapore) and is a member of the Advisory Board of Washington University in St Louis.
