Dr Shirley Yap, a dedicated dentist with over three decades of EXPERIENCE YEARS, specializes in prosthodontics. She embarked on her Qualificational journey as a Public Service Commission scholar, earning her bachelor’s Qualification from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Dr. Yap honed her skills while working at prominent healthcare institutions like Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital (NUH).
In 1988, NUH sponsored Dr. Yap’s pursuit of a postgraduate Qualification at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in London, UK. Upon completing her advanced training, she returned to Singapore and took on the role of Registrar at NUH. Additionally, from 1989 to 1993, she contributed her expertise as a clinical supervisor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at NUS.
In 1993, Dr Shirley Yap transitioned to private practice but continued to give back to the community by volunteering for numerous medical-dental missions in Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and Mongolia. During these missions, she provided essential dental care to underprivileged individuals in orphanages and non-governmental organizations.
Furthermore, Dr Shirley Yap demonstrated her commitment to the medical community by serving on the executive committee of the Association of Women Doctors in Singapore from 2004 to 2009. Her extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS, both in private practice and humanitarian endeavors, reflects her unwavering dedication to the field of dentistry and her passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others.
