Dr Shane Duffy is a London-based consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. He specializes in maternity care, pregnancy, and difficulties with the female pelvic floor and period. Mr Duffy graduated from the University of London’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1997, and went on to earn a Masters in Science, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, a Diploma in Ultrasound, and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).
Dr Shane Duffy is also quite active in the community. He is the Clinical Director of MedNav, a life-saving program that aims to make birthing safer for women all over the world while also addressing difficult pelvic floor disorders (incontinence, fistula and perineal tears).
MedNav operates throughout Africa, offering training and bringing new technologies to assist healthcare personnel in dealing with emergency circumstances. It also treats Ugandan women with obstetric fistulas (holes in the birth canal caused by complications after childbirth).
