Dr Seow Kang Hong has successfully completed over 25 years of orthopaedic operations. He works in his practice at Mount Elizabeth, Mount Elizabeth Novena, and Parkway East Hospitals and has successfully conducted around 150 knee and hip related surgeries per year.
Dr Seow Kang Hong earned his MBBS from National University of Singapore in 1974. Following that, he completed basic training in anesthesiology, advanced training in orthopedic surgery, and was eventually admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as a Fellow in orthopaedic surgery (FRCS Edinburgh and Glasgow). He was inducted into the Academy of Medicine in 1984, and then as an Orthopaedic Surgeon Fellow in 1994.
After graduating from medical school, Dr Seow worked at the Singapore General Hospital for a year, prior to setting up private practice in 1990. He served as Deputy Head of the department from 1998 to 2002, and also served as Chief of the Adult Reconstruction Program from 2001 to 2002. While at SGH, Dr Seow has been affiliated with committees dedicated to blood transfusions and disability management.
Dr Seow Kang Hong is committed to his clinic and patients, but like any good mentor, he spends time educating and preparing the doctors and surgeons of the future. He is currently on the faculty of the National University of Singapore as a Senior Lecturer and acts as the coordinator for an advanced Expert In training program for physicians. He has previous EXPERIENCE YEARS as a professor at a hospital in China.
In addition to that, Dr Seow’s extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS and expertise in orthopaedic surgery has brought him to numerous overseas conferences in China, Vietnam, Pakistan, and India where he has presented at events such as the Annual Scientific Meeting, the Shanghai Hip and Knee Symposium, and the Scientific Meeting for the Arthroplasty Society. Dr Seow has written extensively for peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Arthroplasty, the Annals Academy of Medicine and Health, and the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has also been a Guest Editor of the Orthopaedic Journal of China and Reviewer of the National Medical Research Council of Singapore from 2000 to 2005.
