Dr Banerjee is an expert in Colorectal and Coloproctology, in addition to Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. Graduate of the prestigious BJ Medical College in Pune and the National Board of Examinations in New Delhi for postgraduate training in general surgery. Subsequently, he had the opportunity to serve as a Senior Resident in the Department of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery at several prestigious institutions in New Delhi. He later completed Fellowship in GI surgery and GI oncology at the Medanta Hospital of Digestive Surgery under the supervision of Dr Adarsh Chaudhary (GI surgeon of International Reputation). Medanta also granted him a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. Worked with Dr Muffazal Lakadwala (Internationally Renowned Bariatric Surgeon) in the field of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. Received Colorectal Surgery Fellowships from ACRSI. And three additional Fellowships from India’s most prestigious surgical associations (ASI, AMASI, IAGES). Association of Colorectal Surgeons of India provided basic and advanced training in coloproctology. As part of the PACE program, received hands-on training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Chennai. Profs. Joel Leroy and A. Melani (Global Pioneers of Colorectal Surgery) trained him in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and Transanal Microsurgery. AIIMS, New Delhi, provided a comprehensive training course (endorsed by SAGES, America) on laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
