Biodata
- Dr S Ayyappan has always been passionate in both sports and medicine. He became the college’s sports secretary and was eventually elected general secretary. Dr.S.Ayyappan quickly settled into practicing Surgical Oncology due to the high demand in that discipline. In 1996, he earned a specialist surgical Qualification from the prestigious Adyar Cancer Hospital. He has worked with the Hospital for almost a decade. In 2007, he founded MADRAS CANCER CARE FOUNDATION with the mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality care to cancer patients. His dedication and commitment to his work got him a PhD Qualification from TN Medical University in the subject of cancer in 2013. He is also the Chairman of the Chennai Chapter of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Director of the DNB Surgical Oncology Qualification Program at APOLLO HOSPITALS. He is a visiting and honorary consultant at a number of prominent Chennai and Trivandrum Hospitals. He is a frequent faculty member at national and international cancer conferences, representing Chennai or India.
