Biodata
- Dr Ravi Krishna Kalathur earned his medical Qualification from Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai. He later received training in pain management from Dr. Srinivas Chiravuri, Director of the University of Michigan’s Implants Program in Ann Arbor, USA. He is now an invited faculty member at the same Pain Clinic (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) where he received his training. He is currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Greams Road.
- Dr Ravi Krishna Kalathur is a pioneer in the use of ultrasonography in pain therapies, having undergone training at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as in Germany and Austria. He is India’s first and only Pain Physician to be awarded the renowned Certified Interventional Pain Sonlogist – CIPS designation by the World Hospital of Pain in the United States of America. He is the only Pain Management Specialist in India to hold both the FIPP and CIPS certifications from the World Hospital of Pain in the United States of America. He holds a recognized Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from the UCAM of Spain. He is the only board-certified headache physician in the United States.
- Dr Ravi Krishna Kalathur founded the Chennai Ultrasound Study Group – CUSG, a school dedicated to the Qualification of pain interventions. He also gives courses on ultrasonography and fluoroscopic guided pain treatments at international conferences.
