Dr Malik is an expert in transplant nephrology as a nephrologist. He has more than thirty EXPERIENCE YEARS YEARS in his specialized sector. He is presently a Senior Consultant in the Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Nephrology and Renal Transplant Department. He was the first nephrologist in the Armed Forces to initiate the Renal Transplant Program in 1991. He has performed over 500 kidney transplants in his individual capacity to date. In January 2021, he personally oversaw the first hepato-renal transplant at Fortis Hospital.

Dr Malik received his MBBS from AFMC, Pune University in 1972 and his MD (Medicine) in 1981. In 1989, he earned his DNB (Nephrology) from AIIMS, New Delhi. He has served in the Armed Forces for 22 years in numerous capacities as a Medical Officer and MD Physician, with 5 years of training abroad. After taking an early retirement from the military in 1999, he has been practicing law in Mumbai.
