At Medanta Lucknow, Dr Raj Kumar Sharma is the head of the department of nephrology. He is a former Director and Head of the Department of Nephrology at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Hospital of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, as well as Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia’s former Director.
He served on the Board of Governors of the Government Post Graduate Hospital of Health Sciences in Greater Noida, as well as the State Authorizing Committee for Organ Transplantation (HOTA) in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Sharma was also Co-Chairman of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Expert Group for Kidney Diseases. Since 2016, he has also served on the Committee SEC (Cardiovascular and Renal) of the DCGI, DGHS, Government of India.
Dr. Sharma has written over 353 research papers in reputable national and international journals. He has contributed chapters to over 25 novels. He is the Emeritus Editor of the Indian Journal of Transplantation and the Indian Journal of Nephrology, among other publications. He has also served as the Chief Editor of Clinical Queries Nephrology in the past.
