Biography
Dr. Ko. Chew at NUS in 1969 under a Singapore Government Scholarship and was awarded a silver medal for the death certificate. She received her master’s degree in 1973, later joined the Department of Maternity and Women’s Education, as an education worker, and continued her work as a Teacher and Senior Instructor in the office. She did her dissertation on developmental endocrinology and was awarded the Edgar-Gentilli Award required by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. After receiving his master’s degree, Drs. Chew joined the Department of Obstetrics and Mental Health, as an education worker, and continues to work as a Teacher, Principal Teacher in the office. He was the first speaker for the Benjamin Sheares Lecture organized by the O&G Society of Singapore and was also the recipient of a grant from the Academy of Medicine for his research. He founded the Endocrinological laboratory in collaboration with the World Health Organization for the Evaluation of Laboratory Results. She has also been active in educating and training graduate physicians in pediatric clinical management, locally and regionally. She has published more than 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has access to local magazines and papers. Ko Ko Dr. Chew is the resource speaker for multiple conferences, television conferences, and interviews. The clinical needs of Drs. Chew is molar pregnancy, early birth, endocrinology of endometriosis, uterine disease, uterine tissue, umbilical cord, breast tissue, sperm, and seminal fluid. Her other clinical interests include the management of male endocrine disorders, male and female diseases, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and Gynecological Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy (primary orthopedic surgery).
