Biodata
- Dr Ong Kee Leong is an orthopaedic surgeon with a strong interest in shoulder and knee surgery, arthroscopic sports surgery, and sports-related injury treatment. Additionally, he has a special interest in knee joint preservation surgery.
- Dr Ong Kee Leong earned a bachelor’s Qualification in 2001 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He earned a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2007 and was elected to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2011.
- Dr Ong was awarded a Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) funding in 2012 to pursue fellowship training in Germany. He did a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery at Hannover’s SportsClinic Germany.
- Dr Ong joined private practice after serving as Senior Consultant and Director of Sports Service in Changi General Hospital’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has also worked in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
- Dr Ong was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian Medical School (Nanyang Technological University), a senior clinical teacher at Yong Loo Lin Medical School (NUS), and a Core Faculty member of the Singhealth Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program.
- He trains local and regional surgeons in Shoulder and Knee Surgery Courses on a monthly basis and has received numerous teaching awards, including the Singhealth Residency Outstanding Faculty Award from 2014 to 2016 and Changi General Hospital Outstanding Educator Award from 2015 to 2016.
