Dr Ngo Su-Mien Lynette, of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore, is a surgical oncologist.

Her fields of focus include breast and gynecological cancers, genetic therapy and hereditary cancers, psychosocial oncology, palliative care, and general medical oncology.
After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1996, she graduated with a Master’s Qualification in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2002.

Dr Ngo Su-Mien Lynette received her postgraduate diploma in palliative medicine from the University of Edith Cowan, Australia, and gained her surgical oncology specialist accreditation from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. At City of Hope Hospital, California, she also completed the Comprehensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment.

Dr Ngo Su-Mien Lynette was awarded the Health Manpower Development Program Award to spend a year at the Gillette Center for Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), USA, in pursuit of her sub-specialized interest in gynecologic cancers.

From 2005-2012, Dr Ngo spent 7 years practicing at the National Cancer Centre, Singapore (NCCS).

In addition to being a clinical mentor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, she was also a visiting consultant at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Gynaecologic Cancer Centre and Breast Centre, as well as at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. In addition, she spent 5 years in hospice home care and inpatient hospice programs in the community caring for patients.

Dr Ngo is a member of the American Clinical Oncology Society, the European Clinical Oncology Society, the Gynaecologic Oncology Society of Asia, and the Oncology Society of Singapore. She also serves on the recommendations committee for the Singapore Cancer Network.

Dr Ngo Su-Mien Lynette planned and performed multiple investigator-initiated clinical trials, evaluating novel drugs and treatment methods in subsets of gynaecologic cancers with molecularly specified pathways in partnership with MGH’s gynaecologic oncology team. For her research work, she obtained a grant from the SingHealth Foundation and was interested in several clinical trials focusing on breast and gynecological cancers. In peer-reviewed articles, and published book chapters, she has also contributed to many publications.

In 2013, after recognising the difficulties faced by patients, caregivers and survivors, Dr Ngo began a cancer patient support network at a private hospital in Singapore to provide information, psychosocial and emotional support during the cancer journey.
