Biography

Dr. Melanie Seah is a Consultant Breast Surgeon who embarked on her medical training at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1995 followed by residency training in General Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She has later conferred a Fellow in General Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Upon completion of her fellowship training, Dr. Seah was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health to further hone her clinical skills in breast oncoplastic surgery at Marien Hospital in Düsseldorf, Germany. During her time there, she worked alongside Professor Audretsch Werner, an international leader in breast oncoplastic surgery. Apart from her passion for clinical work, Dr. Seah believes in the importance of mentoring and nurturing students who will eventually become doctors who care for future generations. She served as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Surgery at NUS’Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and as a Clinical Teacher at the Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Dr. Seah is passionate about her work here and enjoys meeting women from all walks of life. From listening, understanding, and advising her patients, she finds it a blessing and privilege to be part of their journey.

Dr Seah’s specialty interest is breast oncoplastic surgery.
