  • Dr Manohara Ruben is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.
    His specialties include the treatment of basic and complex trauma, sports injuries, and degenerative disorders affecting the shoulder and elbow, in particular.
    Dr Manohara earned a bachelor’s Qualification in medicine and surgery from the NUS Faculty of Medicine in 2004. He then pursued postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery. He was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery during his postgraduate study.
  • Dr Manohara Ruben won the NUHS Academic Medicine Development Award upon completion of his specialist training and went on to complete a one-year clinical fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. There, he developed expertise in complex trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and upper limb joint replacement surgery.
    Dr Manohara Ruben spent 16 years in the public sector prior to entering private practice. He was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the National University Hospital’s department of orthopaedic surgery, where he worked in both the shoulder and elbow divisions, as well as the musculoskeletal trauma division.
    He has extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS managing upper limb arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries, as well as basic and complicated fractures, as well as shoulder and elbow joint replacements in primary, revision, and trauma settings. He was also a member of the NUHS hip fracture team that received a Value Driven Outcomes Excellence Award from the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2019.
    Dr Manohara Ruben is also passionate about undergraduate and postgraduate medical Qualification in Singapore and the surrounding area. He was responsible for teaching and evaluating medical students, as well as postgraduate orthopaedic residents, as an assistant professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery at NUS.
    As an active member of AO Trauma, the Singapore Shoulder and Elbow Society, and numerous other Qualificational organizations, he is frequently invited to give lectures and conduct courses on upper limb trauma, shoulder and elbow arthroplasty, and shoulder arthroscopy, both locally and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Dr Manohara has several publications in international peer-reviewed journals in the area of medicine. Additionally, he has delivered several oral presentations at various scientific meetings and authored a chapter for an orthopaedic basic science book.
    Dr Manohara Ruben is a true believer in treating patients first and foremost, rather than their scans. He provides his patients with holistic, personally personalized, and evidence-based treatment. His aim is to assist them in achieving their goals in the most convenient manner possible, whether it is recovering from a serious injury, returning to high-level professional sports, or even something as basic as carrying their grandchildren.
