Professional Statement

Dr Mahmuda Zaman earned her MBBS in 1999 from Dhaka Medical College (DMC). During the first eight years of her professional career, she served in the Army Medical Corps. At that point, she chose to pursue a career in Paediatrics and completed a one-year residency at the CMH Dhaka’s Department of Paediatrics. To have a rounded exposure to Paediatrics, she quit the military and enrolled in full-time residential studies at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University’s Paediatrics Department (BSMMU).

Dr Mahmuda Zaman obtained her FCPS in Paediatrics in 2011 and began her work as a pediatrician in the same year at the then-Apollo Hospitals Dhaka. She practiced general pediatrics at Apollo Hospital for around eight years. This is when she chose to pursue a career in Paediatric – Haemato Oncology. Dr Mahmuda Zaman joined CMC Vellore, India in July 2019 to get real-world EXPERIENCE YEARS in subcontinental pediatric hematoma oncology.

She will join Square Hospital Dhaka as Associate Consultant of Paediatric Haematol Oncology in August 2020 after completing a one-year international fellowship at CMC Vellore. She formerly worked at Square Hospital in general pediatrics, pediatric hematology, blood cancer, and other children malignancies. She is highly skilled in chemotherapy, hematology, and operations connected to cancer. Within a year of her arrival at Square Hospital, she has earned the unwavering faith of pediatric cancer patients and their guardians. Dr. Mahmuda is a well-known name among her patients’ guardians, particularly those who have just returned from India.
